Very imprecise. Wish I hadn’t bought it.

Reply from Hewit - Are you aware that the knurled dial rotates in order to 'zero' the needle?

The dividers appear to be good quality, nice quality and smooth winding action . Bought the larger version which appear to be the most useful size for all types of projects.

I haven't yet used it but had asked for advice from a more qualified bookbinder who fully endorsed it.  It arrived very soon after order!

4 of 5 It works! November 2, 2016

A bit different than the normal weighted spring action gauge, and this mini gauge as this need to be pressed down to gauge the thickness, which can lead tot the question "How light should I press so I don't alter the thickness of leather?" - probably originally intended for the Mechanical Engineering sector but works good enough for leather.
