About Us
J. Hewit & Sons Ltd. are completely dedicated to your total satisfaction. If you have any suggestions or comments, please email us at sales@hewit.com.

Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Please note that due to cost considerations, we have introduced a minimum goods order value of GBP 10.00 (GBP 12.00 including VAT) per transaction.

All shades matched with our Special Matching Service are carried out under 'daylight' lighting conditions, unless otherwise requested.

Shipping & Handling Charges
Prices shown on the web site, do not include shipping charges. These will be calculated towards the end of the checkout process. SMALL PACKET POST is not a suitable shipping option for Leather, cloth, etc. Because of the wide diversity of products that we offer for sale, it is not possible to predict the exact shipping weight and cost in every case. Bulky but light consignments, for example, may need to be recalculated on a "volume-equivalent-weight" basis. Similarly, certain delicate items may require disproportionately heavy packaging, if shipped on their own. The shipping cost shown is based on typical values - if there is a significant deviation we shall notify you by e-mail, prior to dispatch, and ask you to re-confirm the order.

On shipments outside of the UK, an insurance charge forms part of the shipping and handling calculation. If the value of the goods ordered falls below 20.00 Sterling, then we remove the insurance charge and will ship the goods uninsured.

Dispatch and Delivery Schedule
We will normally process and dispatch your order within 5 business days. If there are likely to be any delays in fulfilling your order we will advise you of such. If you have ordered leather, we may contact you to confirm the exact costs involved prior to shipping, and ask for your confirmation to proceed with the order. Delivery times vary depending on location and method of dispatch selected at checkout.

NB Where 'UK Carrier' has been selected as method of shipping, this mean 'Within Two Business Days from Date of shipping'. With the exception of 'Small Packet Post' (which is sent on an untracked service), all packages will need to be signed for by the receiver.

Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. Should there a long expected delay, you will be contacted with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges
VAT @ 20% is payable on all orders that are to be delivered to countries within the European Union. All shipments destined for countries outside of the EU are not subject to tax (VAT).

Please note, that shipments destined for countries outside of the EU, may be subject to local import duties and taxes.
